India Look To Register Another Triumph At Home

Leading the series 2-1, India will be looking to win the fifth ODI to claim another series defeat against West Indies and continue their unbeaten run at home. What was expected to be a dead rubber, the visitors against all odds gave a tough fight to Virat Kohli and Co.

After losing the first one-day international, the Windies had managed to pull off a tie in the second. It was indeed a superb batting effort from Windies, courtesy brilliant innings from Shai Hope (123) and Shimron Hetmyer(94).

Against everyone’s expectation, the West Indies side led by Jason Hoder got the better of India in the third ODI, defeating India by 43 runs, only to level the series 1-1. However, Virat Kohli’s men came back heavily, recording a massive 224 run victory over the men from the Caribbean.

Looking at the performance of Indian batsmen, while batters such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ambati Rayudu have dominated the series, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni aren’t being among the runs going ahead at the World Cup.

Fortunately, skipper Virat has finally found a number four batsman in Ambati Rayudu who has surely cemented his place till the world cup. The right-hander has amassed 198 runs in the series so far with an average of over 60.

With Rayudu going all guns blazing, Jadhav back from injury, and spinners upping their game in every match, team India has managed to tick most of the boxes going ahead at the World Cup next year. Barring one or two slots, one would not expect Kohli to make further changes in the eleven as India will look to add another series win at home when they will take on West Indies in the fifth ODI on Thursday.

INDIA’S EXPECTED PLAYING ELEVEN:

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma (VC), Virat Kohli (C), Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuveneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, K Khaleel Ahmed,  Jasprit Bumrah.
