It was a hot day in Perth with Australia responded with a comprehensive win to level the series 1-1. However, it is not only the thrilling Test cricket match netizens are more concerned about but an extra episode which was supposed to be swept under the rug.
Hours before the Aussies beat the visitors by a massive 146 runs there was a forgettable incident in the Indian camp that went viral on the internet. Fast bowler Ishant Sharma and substitute fielder Ravindra Jadeja had a verbal spat between them on the field when cameras captured the whole scene.
The incident happened in the 87th over of the Australian innings on the fourth Day’s play at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
Nathan Lyon was receiving treatment after he was hit on the helmet by a Shami delivery on the fourth ball of the over. On the other end of the pitch, Sharma and Jadeja were having a heated exchange.
An audio-video clip of the altercation interaction in Hindi picked up by a stump microphone can be heard and seen has been surfaced on the internet.
The audio started with Sharma yelling at Jadeja: “Don’t wave your hand at me.”
Jadeja: “Why are you talking so much?”
The pair continued to hurl abusive words to one another and went chest to chest before they were separated by Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami who was in the middle of an over.
There is no proper explanation as what led to the bitter argument, but the Indian team management clarified that it was not a fight and confirmed that all is well between them.
Jadeja had also been involved in another bust-up with Suresh Raina during an ODI in the West Indies in 2013 after the latter dropped a catch earlier in the game.
