India Register First-Ever Bilateral Series In Australia, Dhoni Shines

Impressive performances from Yuzvendra Chahal and MS Dhoni powered India in winning the third ODI against Australia in Melbourne and thus, register its first-ever bilateral series in Australia. Team India couldn’t have asked for anything more as Virat and Co. won both Test and One-Day series for the first time against Australia down under.

Unarguably, each and every player in the squad did the needful to see India put on one of the most impressive overseas performance in a long time.

Ahead of the third one-day international, team made three changes in the side, bringing in Chahal, Kedar Jadhav, and debutant Vijay Shankar in the side in place of Kuldeep and Siraj and Ambati Rayudu.

Playing his first match in Australia, Chahal showcased one of his best performances of his career, picking up six wickets for just 42 runs on Friday. The leggie’s six-for helped India bundle out Australia for just 230 runs in fifty over.

Australian batsmen looked good in both the previous matches, however, didn’t manage to stay longer at the crease this time, courtesy a stellar performance from Indian bowling.

In reply, India didn’t get off to the best of starts with Rohit and Dhawan departing early, however, Virat and Dhoni steadied the ship, the duo putting on a decent 54-run stand before Kohli nicking Richardson’s for 46.

Perhaps, the dot balls from the other end created pressure on Kohli, which eventually lead to a loss in concentration only to give away his wicket in the middle of the chase.

However, MS Dhoni (87) and Kedar Jadhav (61) made sure they stood at the crease till the very end and take India home with seven wickets remaining in the end and finishing the tour on a bright note.
