India Will Whitewash New Zealand 5-0: Mohammad Azharuddin

Another clinical performance from India who once again decimated the Black Caps in the third ODI at Bay Oval, winning the match by seven wickets on Monday. With the win, India have sealed the series 3-0 with two matches left to be played in Hamilton and Wellington.

Following a poor show in the series so far, a dismal New Zealand will look to win the next two games as the two teams will lock horns in the fourth ODI in Hamilton on January 31.

Meanwhile, former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin has asserted that India will whitewash New Zealand 5-0 looking at New Zealand’s poor show in the series.

“I think 5-0. The way New Zealand are currently playing, I don’t think they will be able to win any match. But nothing is impossible in one day cricket,” Azharuddin was quoted saying.

Prior to the series against India, New Zealand had whitewashed Sri Lanka before a pretty impressive run against Pakistan. However, the Kane Williamson and Co. succumbed to some splendid bowling display, particularly spinners, from India in all the three Odi’s played so far.

“The Indian team is playing so good that it is compelling New Zealand to make mistakes.

“We thought New Zealand would put a fight but our team is a few steps ahead of them. We are a better side in terms of batting and bowling…I think there’s a scope for improvement in the fielding department,” the Hyderabad born cricketer further added
