In one of the most bizarre goals-scoring styles in a top league football match, Divock Origi scored an unbelievable freaky 1-0 winner for Liverpool against Everton in Merseyside derby. The game had looked like it would end in a goalless draw until the “lucky weirdo” goal came to the Reds in their Sunday Premier League game.

Origi, an 84th-minute substitute headed the winning goal in the injury time (96 minutes) from a close range after Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford fumbled with Virgil van Dijk’s effort from the edge of the over the crossbar.

The decisive goal was the first goal of the 23-year-old Belgian’s first after he has made Premier League appearance since August 2017.

The freakish loss has extended the Everton’s 19-year wait for a win at Anfield. Last time the Toffees won at the Anfiled was in September 1999 where Kevin Campbell scored the only goal of the game.

The frenzy moments came after an injury to Idrissa Gueye had delayed the game after four minutes of stoppage time. In the next minute Klopp was seen running on the pitch towards Allison Becker to celebrate the astonishing win.

Later, England international Jordan Pickford had apologized to coach Marco Silva and Everton fans for his mistake that helped Jürgen Klopps’ side beat them in the crucial derby.

The win puts Liverpool just two points behind the leader Manchester City’s 38 points in the table. They will take on the second bottom team Burnley at the Turf Moor on Thursday.
