FC Goa scored all the five goals in an exciting second session as they thrashed NorthEast United FC 5-1 in the Indian Super League clash on Friday. They climbed up to the third spot on the table, pushing the visitors down to the fourth after the comprehensive win at Fatorda Stadium.

After a dull 45 minute, Ferran Corominas lit the party up with two goals in the second half. The game came into alive when he struck into the net from a close range off a Jackichand’s cross in the 59th minute.

But the 1-0 lead was just the beginning of the ravishing show. Edu Bedia pushed the home team to 2-0 when he mesmerized NorthEast goalkeeper Pawan Kumar with a decent beautiful drop.

Within a couple of minutes, Hugo Buomous slid through between opponent defenders to make a comfortable 3-0 lead. Gao smelled the victory from the scorecard when Corominas netted his second goal in the 84th minute.

Bartholomew Ogbeche scored a consolation for the visitors in the 90th minute, but it was clouded by Miguel Palanca’s sublime winner at the injury time (90+1).

The win at Fatorda means Goa never lost to NorthEast on the home ground. They have earned 20 points from 11 matches, seven points behind the leader Bengaluru FC.
