Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez on Friday slammed the reports claiming he bet on Jose Mourinho’s getting sacked. According to reports, Sanchez won a £20,000 bet with United teammate Marcos Rojo over the departure of Mourinho.

Sanchez, who turned 30 this week, took to Twitter and clarified on the “false” story. He posted the picture of the report and wrote:

“This is FALSE!!!. José gave me the chance to play for the
best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him.
We are a truly United team.”

After the Portuguese manager was sacked on Tuesday, there were reports saying that Sanchez sent a message to the United players' WhatApp group celebrating the news. The message read:

“I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k.”

The Chilean international joined the United from Premier League rivals Arsenal in January with a four-and-a-half-year deal. He has been ruled out of the game until the new year with a hamstring injury.

Days after the Red Devils suffered a 3-1 defeat at Anfield, Mourinho parted the club.
