Tottenham Hotspur secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the expense of Tranmere Rovers in the third-round tie on Friday. Mauricio Pochettino’s men recorded their biggest away win in the club's history with a 7-0 scoreline against the League Two side at Prenton Park.

Fernando Llorente claimed a hat-trick and Serge Aurier scored twice as the Spurs showed no mercy against the helpless Super White Army.

Aurier opened the scoring in the 40th minute as he pilfered the ball from sloppy Rovers striker James Norwood and struck into the top left corner of the net. But the most exciting part of the game came from goal gala second half.

Llorente, who made his second start of the season, scored in the 48th minute from Son Heung-min’s low pass beside Tranmere goalkeeper Scott Davies.

Aurier scored his second goal in the 55th minute with a comfortable strike, beating Davies and defender Mark Ellis.

Son found the net within a couple of minutes by slipping through Davies’ legs.  The visitors continued their savagery as Llorente netted two more goals in a gap of 60 seconds in the 71st and 72nd minutes.

Substitute Harry Kane joined the fun when he chipped over Davies with a slight touch in the 82nd minute.

The seven-goal clean sheet was Tottenham’s largest margin of victory since they beat Wigan Athletic 9-1 in 2009 at White Hart Lane. It was also their biggest FA Cup win since they overcame Crewe Alexandra 13-2 in 1960 on the home ground.
