Leaders Porto extended their winning streak to 18 matches in all competitions after defeating Nacional 3-1. Yacine Brahimi scored twice each of the half at Estádio do Dragão to secure the Dragons 6 points clear atop the Primeira Liga.

The first half witnessed three goals coming from both teams in eight minutes. Brahimi opened the scoring in the 32nd slipping beside Nacional goalkeeper Daniel Martins Guimarães into the right corner. Within six minutes, Francisco Soares’ beautiful header off Jesus Corona’s decisive cross from the right wing gave a 2-0 lead.

Bryan Rochez struck the only goal for Nacional in the 40th minute to pose little threat to the hosts.

However, Brahimi’s powerful strike in the 50th minute made sure the league leaders are keeping up with their winning streaks.

The Dragons have earned 42 points from 16 matches, while the second place Braga, who beat Boavista 1-0 Sunday, are second in the Primeira Liga with 36 points.

Benfica sealed 4-2 win against Rio Ave in their first game after the sacking of coach Rui Vitoria, while 10-man Tondela overcame Sporting 2-1 and maintained their position in the fourth place with 34 points.
