Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game as Juventus outclassed AC Milan to secure a record eighth Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday. Ronaldo’s winning header came in the 61st minute to seal their first title of the season in a game played at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Allegri‘s men had almost opened the scoring in the first-half when Blaise Matuidi slid from the close range only to be realized the Frenchman was in an offside  position.

The Serie A leaders felt the presence of Portuguese superstar when he headed his 16th goal with the club from a Miralem Pjanić’s cross. Ronaldo, who was transferred from Real Milan for a hefty €110m, has now scored 8 goals in his last 7 cup finals.

The Rossoneri was reduced to 10 men when Franck Kessie received a red card after he made a late stud-up tackle on Emre Can in the 72nd minute. Referee Luca Banti initially showed a yellow card but he sought a VAR review for a closer look.

The win was the first Italian title for 33-year-old Portugal forward since he joined the Old Lady in last summer.
