Heavy rains disrupted the much-awaited summit clash between India and Pakistan as the arch-rivals shared the Asian Champions trophy 2018 on Sunday. After wasting one hour of play from the scheduled time of 10:40 pm IST due to heavy downpour, India and Pakistan were declared as joint winners as the coaches of both the teams agreed to share the prestigious trophy.
India will be proud of their performance as the Manpreet Singh’s men remained unbeaten in the tournament with 13 points to their name in the round-robin tournament.
Pakistan was at the second position having lost to India 1-3 earlier in the round-robin tournament. Both the teams have won the trophy twice before claiming the 2018 Asian Champions Trophy.
Earlier, India beat Japan 3-2 in a thrilling semi-final, while Pakistan won the semi-final against Malaysia in the shootout (3-1) to set up the final clash against India.
India will play next in FIH World Cup 2018 in Bhubaneshwar starting from November 28.
